I stayed up until 3 a.m. to watch the Academy Awards on Sunday night - the red carpet IS the show for me. What a disappointment! Nearly everyone played it safe in simple black.
To be fair, there were also a number of red, white and jewel-toned dresses. And even though I love the drama of a red dress, they were still fairly simple gowns of a cut and style I have more-or-less seen before.
I couldn't agree more with John Waters of WWD:
"Stylists have ruined everything...Nobody wants to be Björk. I love Björk. We need Björk."
